Here are a few Eveisms I think I may have missed.
When Eve wants my attention, which seems to be pretty often, she grabs my face and turns it toward hers. Usually she says emphatically "excuse me, Mommy" pronounced "go goose me, Mommy!" Sometimes I get a sweet surprise and she kisses me smack on the lips.
Eve is getting away from saying this, but I don't know that I ever mentioned it, and I loved it. For a while, she answered any question first with "I don't know" pronounced "I na no" then immediately with the answer. She did this even when the knew the answer. There was no real pause between "I don't know" and the answer. I suppose she just thought answers were supposed to be given in that fashion. Sort of like Jeopardy when each answer is supposed to start with "What (who, where) is...".
Of course a lot of what's funny about what Eve says is the way she says it. I don't know if I can describe this well, but I'll try. John settled on "Thank you, God, this amen" for his blessing long ago. Eve picked up on it and uses the same one, only when she says Amen, she begins at a regular tone and slides her voice up to a high tone by the end. It's pretty funny. So much so, she often feels the need to repeat it. "I said, thank you, God, this amen" sliding her voice up again.
Lately she's had only two speeds...on and off. So, while she's awake, there has been no silence. She talks, la la la's, yo yo yo's, you name it...constantly. She's been singing a lot, then sings the song with her tongue out, then sings the song with random syllables. It's particularly funny when she's in the car or the bathroom (by the way, she finally figured out how to pee pee on the potty and has been doing it at least once or twice a day for a treat!).
Eve's new funny thing is "I'm pretending." or "I preteeeeeeeeeending". Example, she'll point to a picture of a donkey and say "horsie". I'll say "close, that's a donkey". She'll respond "I pretending it's a horsie."
