John's Turn

Here are some random shots of John.
Mr. Rob and Mrs. Suzie gave John a rocket for his birthday.  He and Buck worked together to assemble it.
And nobody glued anything permanently to their fingers!
 Now it's ready for launch!
John had his first soccer game.  His team is the Bullfrogs.  As well as his first practice went, his first game went just as poorly.  I think for him to have a great time, all the stars need to align.  They did for practice, but things just didn't go his way for the game.  I think he must've been tired (he hasn't had ONE nap since school started, but he has needed one several days).  He was also nervous when all of a sudden, unlike in practice, 14 kids were clumped around the ball.  He sat out the middle two quarters, then mustered up the courage to stand on the field for the last one.  In the last few seconds he finally mustered up the courage to run toward the ball, and I think started to have fun, and the whistle blew to stop the game.  And then the tears started flowing.  He wanted to play more but had lost his chance.  Hopefully since he had fun at the end he'll be able to warm up more to it this week.
And this cracked us up.  John has decided one toilet paper holder should be hanging from the other.  He's put it there twice.  The kid's got quite an imagination and an eye for puzzles.  I guess if it's there, it just makes sense.  I think it's time he learned to read.

What fun John building with daddy and you guys really did well on the rocket.

Don't worry about the soccer John, you will get the hang of it soon. It is so so fun to play.
