Yesterday I was sitting in the chair with both kids in my lap reading a book. I retreived a rather large "buddy" from Eve's nose, then realized I was trapped with it stuck on my finger. Jokingly I asked (out loud) "well, what am I supposed to do with this now?" John's prompt response, "Put it in my nose!" He thought it was pretty funny. Although it's terribly disgusting, I have to admit I did too.
So, it's Christmas time. Our tree is leaning on a 30 degree angle (fortunately it's leaning in the direction of the wall), the lights are hanging down to the floor as they're partially removed, most of the ornaments have been taken off, some broken, some distributed throughout the house, and almost all the rest of the decorations are still laying in boxes in the hallway...waiting to be put right back up in the attic because we never got around to putting them up. There's a batch of cookies in the trash because I forgot they were in the oven until I finally had the next tray to go in (30 or 45 min later). Not to mention that I haven't cleaned in weeks because it's just been too busy. So, is it only in a house like this that a child makes such a recommendation about boogers? If so, I'll take it. Despite the mess and the craziness, we're having a blast in the midst of it...and it'll only get more crazy and more fun in May!
