C-L-E-M-S-O-N!!!!!!!!

Two weekends ago we went to Clemson for homecoming. This was a big day for Ellie! Her first trip to Death Valley! She, of course, loved every minute. Clemson played Miami, and lost in ugly fashion, but the weather was great and we had a wonderful time!
We gathered with some old crew friends to tailgate then headed to Bowman to see the floats, otherwise known as the "paper statues". Of course there's a tractor. For once John was ready for a picture and Eve was not so in the mood.

Ha ha! Fooled you!

This looked a lot cuter in person. I couldn't resist posting, though. This is surely the cutest turd the tiger ever dropped :)

I wish the video we took would upload. A radio station was playing dance music in front of Clemson House, and John and Eve were putting on quite a show. I'm not sure where they got their moves, but all of a sudden they're awesome dancers!

After checking out the floats, we ran (literally...which is amusing with 3 kids in tow) to watch the band march to the field. It was loud, something John and Eve hate, but it was still very exciting!

John, in particular, loved it!

We bought 3 tickets in the upper deck and headed into the game. Unfortunately we missed the team running down the hill. It was very sunny, and with our seats being 1/2 way to the sun, it was really hot. The timing of the game (noon) wasn't so helpful either. Eve was scared of all the noise before we got there, and naptime was quickly approaching. John and Eve lasted for about 5 scoreboard minutes. I think John would've enjoyed it if it wasn't so hot. Buck took them down to the concession area and shade to get some icees. Problem easily solved. I fed Ellie and headed down to meet them. I couldn't sit in that heat with her in good conscience. SO, Buck took all 3 kids to the tailgate while I cheered the tigers to an ugly loss.

GO TIGERS!!!

Back at the tailgate, Buck met up with some friends and their kids. They pulled out the chalk and had a big time! When I got back, there wasn't a clean spot on them...including their heads!

This picture was taken near the beginning. When I got there, it was much worse. They had a ball.

John found a stick to use as a trumpet to play Tiger Rag...and is still doing so. I'm so proud!

All in all, we had a fabulous time and the kids can't wait to go back. I'm thinking it may be a while before we try to watch the game as a family again. Things sure have changed since we were students, but it's still lots of fun!
