"A" is for Apple

Last Thursday we went to Sky Top orchard in Flat Rock, NC to go apple picking. In the end, we (and by we, I mean I) only picked 4 or 5 apples, but we had a great time!We started on the playground where there was a little barn to play in...and peep out

peek-a-boo!

We picked a few apples, but the trees were either well picked over, or the apples were past their prime. There really weren't any on the kids level to pick. I picked a few for them to try, and they enjoyed them.

Yum!

Eve enjoyed making faces at the ducks and geese and taunting them...until a goose stuck it's neck out of the fence and almost got her! All 3 enjoyed the ducks, geese, goats, sheep, peacocks, and baby chicks.

Poor Ellie just gets stuck in the carseat, carrier, or stroller, but she still had fun.

And then we climbed the trees

Not the greatest picture, but remember, I was there alone with 3 kids, and they were all in a tree without any supporting hands at the moment. I took what I could get, then quickly grabbed Ellie :) It wasn't too long afterward that John fell from a pretty high branch. He immediately grabbed his arm, but fortunately it was only a scratch. A boo boo to be very proud of!

We had some apple cider doughnuts and bought some pre-picked apples to enjoy later, then finished off with a hayride.

And we finished off by sitting on the pumpkins in the parking lot. We couldn't have had a better day, sunny and cool. We were certainly ready for a nap when we got home!
