No More Monkeys!

Ellie is now jumping on the bed. The rail on her crib is just the right height to lend her support as she bounces on her feet. John and Eve were never bouncy, but Ellie sure is! She's also exploring the cabinets, standing in the tub, blowing raspberries with her food, and today I didn't catch her, but her pants were soaking wet, the dogs' water was dumped and the toilet paper strewn about the bathroom. Something tells me my days of dicipline-free bliss are nearing the end. Bummer. So far when I've told her "no" and closed the cabinet, or given her a painless little pop and pulled her back on her bottom she's cried as if she's been tortured...and gone right back to it. Are we going 3 for 3 on strong will? In other news, tomorrow we're leaving for Florida for my cousin Ryan's wedding. I didn't mention the trip until a few days ago. I didn't mention the beach until yesterday. Eve has been asking constantly if we're going on our trip now. Each time I say "no" she pitches a HUGE fit. She's graduated into the strong fit phase where she's screaming "NO!" at the top of her lungs, hitting things (fortunately not usually people), and throwing things. Fortunately for me, I remember John going through that, and I've seen him come out on the other side, so I can handle it a bit better knowing it won't last forever. It's actually pretty comical. She's really upset we're not at the beach, though. Something tells me it's going to be a fun trip. I'm really excited and will hopefully have lots of fun pictures to post next week.
