Two weekends ago we celebrated homecoming at Clemson. We had a few friends in town, but unfortunately with the busyness of the day, we didn't get to really catch up. You'd be amazed at how difficult it can be to take 3 kids to Clemson after a soccer game, push 2 up the hill past the soccer field on a narrow busy sidewalk, and convince the third that walking up said hill isn't so bad. When we got to Bowman field to see the floats, John was tired.
Yes, he took this one upside down. I thought I'd keep the art true to the artist.
The kids love the CAT bus. Nevermind it's headed toward us and we're in the middle of the road. Sometimes you have to sacrifice for the perfect shot.
After seeing the floats and watching the band, which the kids loved, John Eve and I went into the stadium for the game. Ellie watched the game with Daddy at the tailgate. They really enjoyed some special one-on-one time...and some PBR I suppose.
We sat in section E. Letters are fun for 3 and 5 year olds. It was a good way to keep them excited while making the long trek to our seats (great seats, by the way).
Waiting for pregame it got a little hot in the sun, and a little boring, and you never know when it's going to get loud, so Eve was prepared. Fortunately there were some empty seats in front of us so we had a little wiggle room.
Running down the hill is the most exciting (and loud) 25 seconds in college football!
After the first quarter bribery snack was all gone, we bought second quarter slushies. According to John, they were slushilicious!
At half time we were able to meet up with my old roommate Claire and her kids for some more bribery snacks. John and Eve had a great time, and even learned the word "booyah". Thanks, Claire. Afterward we made it back to the game. John enjoyed parts, but was overall pretty bored (although later he made it sound like he had lots of fun). Eve really enjoyed cheering for the Tigers. They both improved their spelling that day C-L-E-M-S-O-N T-I-G-E-R-S!
Clemson beat Boston College. We tailgated a bit more with Daddy and Ellie, then put on pajamas to head home. What a fun day in Death Valley!
