19 (or 23) to go! A few weeks ago (September 9) John finally lost his first tooth! I just looked back, and July 25 was when I first posted about it being lose. He wasn't afraid to pull it or anything, he just noticed it when it was barely loose, and it took a long time to be ready, I guess. So, after church Sunday Buck noticed that John's gums were a little discolored. He told him to try to go pull it. John went into the bathroom and quickly gave up because it was slippery. I told him to try using a paper towel. He then worked diligently, grunting here and there to help it along, as I tried to finish my lunch. I wasn't really very hungry anymore...gross! After several minutes, he did it!
At night everyone was so excited that the tooth fairy was coming for the first time! I have a pillow (a little frilly, but still fun) that someone cross stitched for me as a child with a little poem about the tooth fairy and a pocket on it. John opted to use it.
Wha-da-ya-know...he got a gold dollar! It's been burning a hole in his pocket ever since. As much as loose teeth gross me out, I found myself being really excited about John losing his first tooth. His adult tooth is already making its way in. We're saving for braces now!
