Ho Ho Ho!

No, it's not Christmas, but John got himself into a funny predicament yesterday.  I hope I'm able to describe this adequately without a picture (believe you me...I wish I at least had my phone handy at the time.  I would've totally snapped a picture before saving him...or letting our friend save him, but I digress).  So anyway, it's spring break.  I decided we'd stay around the house most of spring break and hopefully get Ellie into panties, so we don't have anything big planned.  We invited some friends over and were playing with them and some other kids in the cul-de-sac.  The kids were playing in the neighbor's play house while my friend Holly and I chatted.  I could see that John was playing on top of the house, but he's pretty good at climbing, so I wasn't overly concerned.  At some point, Jackson, Holly's son, came over and said, "there's something bad in the house".  We didn't quite understand, so we went over to investigate.  Then Jackson said, "John's stuck".  At first we thought he was playing around, then found that John was, in fact, stuck.  There is a square hole at the top of the roof of the playhouse.  All we saw were John's legs coming down the side of the roof, with his feet right gutters might go.  He was bent at the hips, and the rest of him was hanging upside down through the square hole in the top of the roof.  Fortunately he wasn't scared, so we all laughed a bit and I told him I wish we had a camera handy.  I was holding Jake, so Holly climbed into the house.  I tried to coach John to pull his knees under so he could get leverage to pull his upper body out, but he couldn't.  Holly ended up catching him as he dumped head-first through the "chimney".  I suggested, as funny as it was, that John not try to be Santa anymore :).
