8 Months And Moving...

Jake has passed the 8 month marker.  In the picture above, which was taken right at 8 months, he's wearing an 18 month romper, and it's not even a tiny bit too big.  If you ask me, that's just wrong.  Most brands stop making one piece outfits after 12 months, and while I'm not a fan of 4 year old boys wearing rompers, I'm not ready for my 8 month old to be wearing separates either.  He's just growing too fast!  This past Saturday, just a few days past 8 months, Jake made his first hand-knee-hand crawl motion.  By the end of our week at the beach he was able to cross the room with no trouble.  We got back home today and he immediately started exploring downstairs.  He's able to pull up as well, but he's not experimenting with that much, and I'm not exactly encouraging it.  He's babbling a lot, especially "da da da", but not associating any sounds with objects/people yet.  He went from not wantig anything to do with anything on a spoon to eating us out of house and home.  He eats anything and everything...all the time.
Being the 4th kid has its drawbacks, but also has its perks.  This week Jake had his first watermelon, which he of course loved.  He also had his first ice cream.  He made a funny face after the first bite because of the cold, but immediately opened his mouth for more.  From then on he was a big fan.  He is just an absolute joy.
