Say Guppy!

Last Saturday Eve had her Guppy meet.  Guppies is one-on-one lessons with a swim team member plus candy and games.  It's awesome!  They have one "meet" after 4 weeks of practice.  They setup the fancy swim team equipment, announce their names, the whole nine yards.  The first "race" was the 25m freestyle.  The girl in Eve's lane is her guppy helper, Colleen.  They stay with them the whole time.

 Eve worked very hard and finished her lap!  She did great!

 The rest of the "races" were fun races.  The kickboard race was next.  Eve took the "fun" concept a bit far.  With everyone cheering, she sort of lost any sense of urgency about halfway across the pool and took her own sweet time finishing.  It was pretty comical.

 

 There was a floatie race followed by a noodle relay.  She loved it!

 She got a whole host of prizes: a medal, certificate, ribbon, candy, bubbles...you name it.

Eve was very excited and proud, as were we!  She's ready for Junior Swim Team next year!
