Charleston (Part1)

As a spur-of-the-moment decision, we took a weekend trip to Charleston with my mom. We had a BLAST! We got there just before bed time Friday night, but had promised John we were going to the beach, so had to at least let him see it. No camera with us Friday night, unfortunately, but someone had dug a HUGE hole in the beach, so John and Eve had a great time playing in it. Before long Eve found her way to the water and got terribly angry each time I tried to pull her away (they were in regular clothes and we didn't have towels handy). We spent a good portion of Saturday at the beach...just enjoying it... A LOT!

This picture is a rareity. John puts his sunglasses on upside-down 99.99999% of the time. He even switches them if they're "wrong". He was just that distracted by the sand and all the work that needed to be done. He must've not realized.

Eve has no fear of the water. She kept moving from crawling to walking, back and forth, whichever was the quickest mode. She is a beach baby like I've never seen. Too bad I never caught her best expression. Most of the time she was actually squealing with delight...wide mouth grin.

John, on the other hand, not so crazy about the water. I think it was the noise and the force of the waves, and the fact that it hurt when it splashed in his eyes. It took a lot of coaxing to get him in there...each time. He did enjoy it, though. Kicking the waves was his favorite.

To be continued...
