Decorating the house was a big deal this year. The kids were very excited about every aspect, including climbing into the attic. For the first time we bought some inexpensive, non-fragile decorations for their rooms. That was a HUGE hit!
I missed the decorating of the rooms. It was my volunteer night. Buck told me how much fun they had had, and I saw the bright pink glow out the window on my way home, so I had to check it out. I peeped into the girls room to find them snuggled up at the base of their tree. They fell asleep admiring it. It was so cute.
Grandma (G.G.) gave us two of these gingerbread houses several years. They are well loved. They play "Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy" and the lights flash. The kids love to play them both at the same time, but since they have slightly different charges in their batteries, the tunes are always just a hair off in time and pitch, and it sounds like a creepy horror movie. It's good fun!
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care. They moved as much as the ornaments on the tree.
Since the kids are split into 2 rooms, we put the kids tree in the playroom. They worked very hard to decorate it.
John is perfecting his "selfie" skills.
And Jake had the honor of topping the tree. Our halls were fabulously decked.
