Halloweenie!

Wow!  We're reaching WAY back here.  Halloween!  It's a fun time, but somehow this year it snuck up on me.  In our neighborhood (and several others) sometimes we get BOO!ed.  It's a "ding dong ditch" game where someone drops treats at your door with a little sign and instructions.  You post the sign on the door to let everyone know you've already been BOO!ed, and then you BOO! 3 other people.  Ellie had seen Halloween cookies on a sign in the grocery store and had been dreaming of baking Halloween cookies, so we used these to BOO! the neighbors.
The kids are terrible at being stealthy, and even stopped to talk to one of the neighbors (so obviously got caught), but it's lots of fun and entertainment to watch them try.
 John the Ninja
 Eve the Witch
 Ellie the ladybug
 Jake the dragon
Picking out costumes was quite a task.  They could've spent 3 hours in the store and still not have made up their minds (except John, who knew before we went what he wanted to be).  We finally said, "In 30 seconds, whatever is in your hand is what you get."  And here's where we landed.
This year we hosted our 9th annual Halloweenie, and it was, as always, a blast!  Something crazy happened in the neighborhood, though.  I think there were a lot of teen parties or something because there were way more trick or treaters than typical.  We went through about 250 hotdogs by 7:30 or 8!

It was very warm...as you can tell by Mustard's creepy lack of pants (there are shorts under there...I think)
Fun was had by all!
