Running Behind

Running behind seems to be the theme of my life right now.  Looks like I update the blog once every one or two months, and just squeeze it all in at once.  Lots and lots to catch up on, and hopefully I'll get to that soon.  I just saw my last post on November 25 announced that Jake took his first step.  Well, he's 14 months now, and has finally taken 4 or 5 steps at once, but it still takes lots of coaxing.  He also just popped his 8th tooth through, so he's finally got even bite marks.  He has definitely started to show an independent streak, and expresses himself emphatically when he's frustrated (i.e. someone tells him "no" or takes something from him).  He's still a happy, smiley, super fun kid!

 

At one point, Jake was 13 months.  Poor thing was sick for so long, I couldn't get a good picture of him.  Finally I snapped this sweet one (a few weeks late).  Poor thing had a nasty cold, ear infections, then either an allergic reaction to amoxicillin or roseola...followed by another cold of course.  Fortunately he's all back to normal, as you can see in the top picture.  Goodness he's getting so big!
