Thanksgiving

Packing for our Thanksgiving trip to Albany, GA proved to be difficult.  Who want to pack when there's a snow globe outside?  Nothing stuck, but we had the most beautiful HUGE flakes falling down.  I thought it would be fun to watch from inside.  Silly me.

We had lots of family fun down in Albany.  Grandma recently suffered something, possibly a stroke.  She had just come home a few days before everyone arrived, and is under hospice care.  It was a bittersweet visit.  This was the first time Jake got to meet G.G.  She was so very happy to see him, and was very alert and responsive when he came in the room.

Ann shared a beautiful tribute to Grandma during Turkey Tree.  She spoke about Grandma being the first "Random Acts of Kindness" person she ever knew, and what an accurate statement!  She's the only person I've known to see a pregnant cashier at Wal-Mart, and return shortly afterward with a handmade blanket for her baby.  Grandma has certainly taught us all about loving others, and has given us a good standard to strive for.

Eve and Mimi...they are pen pals now!
Brian, Kasey, Henry, and Eve.  Henry is not quite 2, but smart as a whip.  We asked him who his favorite president was.  Without a pause he responded, "Martin VanBuren."  Such a doll.
Tonya (the new "Turkey") and Ben...we know she's a good catch because she smiled through her stint as the Turkey, and then continued to say "yes" when Ben asked for her hand a few weeks later.
Riley scored a fabulous hat in the Chinese auction.
 So did Kasey.

It was a fantastic time with family.  A time I always treasure.  We have so much to be thankful for!
