I'm running behind on posting pictures and updating the blog because the computer is in the shot for an undetermined amount of time. Fortunately everything picture-wise is backed up on an external hard drive. Unfortunately I don't know when we'll get the computer back and be able to put those up on the blog.
FORTUNATELY my wonderful husband bought me a new fancy schmancy camera, so look forward to some fabulous pictures once I get a chance to play with it a bit.
Not a whole lot of news in our house. Last weekend was the first soccer game for the Alligators. Once again, we failed to score any goals, but I was impressed at how they played compared to the first practice. Eve ran a little bit, but never actually got close enough to the ball to touch it. We'll work on that. John had a GREAT goal save! Unfortunately he got a nice strawberry on his knee in the 3rd quarter and was done for the rest of the game. They both really enjoyed it, though, I think. What I liked most was that the coach set up a blanket for all the team to sit together while they weren't playing rather than running back to sit with their parents. They even got together and did a little cheer once. It was very cute. Ellie wants desperately to be on the field with them.
Ellie has been super clingy lately, which is new for her. She's not really a snuggle bug, and still isn't, unless I'm about to pass her off to someone in the nursery or we're around a lot of people. Then we're inseparable. A few people have said she must know something's about to change. I asked her (just being silly) when she was clinging to me one time, "You know something's up, don't you?" She nodded. Awwwww.
I don't know the title of the song, but all three are singing "I've got the moves like Jagger" and doing the "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh" part. It's hysterical. John pulled it out of the blue while he was dancing a few months ago and we all died laughing. Now Eve and Ellie are singing it too. So funny.
A translation tip we've learned...Ellie speaks well, but is sometimes hard to understand, particularly when she gets going with multiple sentences. We finally realized that she uses "sha na" and "da na" over and over as fillers within thoughts, sort of like she's stuttering. It helps a lot to be able to listen to the beginning, sometimes something in the middle, and the end, and just block out all the "sha na"s. She makes a lot more sense now!
Posts to come are John's legos (he bought them with his own money, and Eve bought a Rapunzel doll with hers), and hopefully strawberry picking soon, which will be super exciting with a new fancy schmancy camera!
