Growing Up!

Will I ever believe how big John is?  Probably not.  Last week he learned to start and stop on his own on his bike without training wheels.  He had put them back on a few times after learning, possibly because it's no fun to be at the mercy of Mom to start and stop.  So, now he's back to loving his bike, and I'm back to cringing in silent terror.  He really is doing great, though.
On top of that, this weekend I had to buy his first pair of shoes in...gasp...big boy size 1!
He also decided to try mac and cheese again, and...gasp...said he liked it!  Surprisingly, none of them thinks they like it (crazy!), but we've finally had one successful attempt.
John has also started creative spelling.  Usually at home he asks how to spell things and I just tell him.  He's come home from school, though, with some things he's written completely on his own, so I decided to encourage that more.  Today he had and "all about me" homework assignment.  It was mostly about his hobby, legos.  He did a great job, and I'll have to post more pictures later (when I get my computer back), but this one cracked me up, and I took a picture with my phone and was able to post it.  I felt so bad because it's such a great answer.  My hobby (legos) has taught me to be patient.  Really a mature and bright answer, if you ask me.  I just couldn't stop laughing at his spelling.  Poor thing kept asking me innocently why I was laughing.  I just couldn't help it no matter how hard I tried.  I am so proud of his answer, though.
